I don’t want my photographs to pose as art.
I want them to communicate.
Background. As a professional photographer living in Albuquerque, I enjoy hiking and traveling throughout New Mexico and the American Southwest. I am an outdoor and portrait photographer, inspired by the region’s stunning landscapes, wildlife, and multicultural traditions. My mission is to capture iconic images of the land and its people.
My first experience with photography began 40 years ago in the U.S. Army where I was trained as a combat photographer and worked as a darkroom technician and photojournalist. Since then, my photography has evolved from the realistic images of journalism to the more expressionistic images of fine art.
Author. I am also the author of Photographing Albuquerque, a 70-page travel and photo guidebook, that takes the reader to the best photo sights around Albuquerque and also provides numerous photo tips on how to turn ordinary snapshots into compelling images.
